Summary

 

Minimum Starting Salary $17.13 per hour depending on qualifications

 

Under basic supervision, supervises the staff and functions of the asset recovery program for Fleet Services (FS), including disposal of surplus vehicles and equipment.

 

Primary Duties

 

Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Factors such as regular attendance at the job are not routinely listed in job descriptions but are an essential function. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

• Coordinates the asset recovery program; coordinates the sale and disposal of surplus vehicles, equipment, scrap metals and miscellaneous items; prepares and processes technical and legal forms; manages the auction processes; performs duties in compliance with all City policies and state and federal regulations.

• Coordinates and receives the receipt of surplus and forfeiture items; documents receipt of items; maintains proper accountability of items; determines proper disposal method; generates and maintains proper documentation in compliance with all City polices and state and federal regulations.

• Assists with budget preparation and administration; tracks fuel costs, charges and usage; compiles operational and financial information for reports.

• Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information.

• Performs other related or assigned duties as required.

• Driving is essential.

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

 

• High School Diploma or GED

• Two years’ work experience in the fleet environment including maintenance and repairs, equipment operations. Fleet management program experience is preferred.

• A minimum of 30 college credit hours within a relatable field will be considered towards work experience.

• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

 

Physical Demands

 

Medium Work:

 

• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
