GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for the daily office operations of the Adult Education Department. This person is the first point of contact providing general information and answering inquires, as well as assisting students in enrolling in the AEL program. This position receives general direction from the Project Director of Adult Education & Literacy and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Some professional work experience in an office environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are fluent in conversational Spanish, and can also demonstrate multicultural awareness.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Knowledge of: 1. Principles and practices of confidential records management and file maintenance, both physical and electronic. 2. Office procedures and operating various electronic equipment, such as computers, scanners, copiers, recording devices, etc. 3. Basic computer operations including Microsoft office, Google suite, and Zoom. Skills in: 4. Professional and responsible when addressing customer needs. 5. Organizing and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines. 6. Attention to detail and problem solving. 7. English usage spelling, grammar and punctuation. Ability to: 8. Read and follow oral and written instructions. 9. Understand and comply with federal and state laws, as well as college and grant rules, regulations, and policies. 10. Maintain cooperative working relationships. 11. Provide superior customer service. 12. Learn new software quickly and stay up-to-date on new applications.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
