Blackhawk Modifications is searching for a highly educated and experienced accounting executive with strong organizational and analytical skills to join our team at our corporate office in Waco, TX in the role of Controller.

The role of the Controller will be to direct and maintain our accounting systems, monitor related procedures and recommend improvements.
This position will help oversee all accounting responsibilities including revenue recognition, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, and sales commission calculations and reporting.
Key areas will include analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts as assigned and overseeing cash management.
Of upmost importance will be keeping records and accounts accurate and current, resolve discrepancies and accounting errors and completing related reports, summaries, and records.
The Controller will assist the CFO in ensuring that accounting responsibilities observe established legal, regulatory, and Company procedures. This position reports to CFO.
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and General Ledger analysis.
Oversee daily cash-management activities, including monitoring cash reserves, overseeing banking transactions and provide weekly cash management reporting.
Manage the daily business relationships with banks.
Manage accounting and process improvements observing our procedures including preparation of reports, journal entries, along with reviewing reconciliations of General Ledger Accounts.
Manage the monthly general ledger closing process.
Review source documents and records daily transactions.
Prepare monthly sales commission calculations and submit to third-party payroll system.
Post all third-party payroll entries.
Prepare standard monthly and recurring or adjusting journal entries.
Manage researching, tracking, and resolving accounting problems and discrepancies.
Manage intercompany transactions to ensure proper recording
Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain information to correct transactions
Keep management informed of area activities and of any problems. Report the status of all account reconciliations to the CFO.
Oversee assigned personnel by training and advising employees on current accounting methods.
Provide suggestions to improve productivity.
Provide assistance to personnel ensuring accounting controls and policies are well understood and followed.
Coordinate the annual audit. Ensure that accounting records and reports comply with GAAP and government regulations. Partner with and assist external auditors.
Conduct performance appraisals for assigned staff members and implement corrective action when needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Master’s degree and/or CPA designation required
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices including account reconciliation.
Minimum of ten years of previous accounting experience.
Previous supervisor experience required.
Excellent organizational skills with attention for detail and accuracy.
Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Worked in a cross functional team environment and cooperative and willing to work with others.
Worked to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Reconcile large amounts of data and have excellent analytical skills.
Proficiency in excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus

Pay: $100,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
