Avionics Technician/ Instrumentation Specialist

Title: Avionics Technician

Reports to: SVP Engineering

Primary Responsibilities

1. Install Avionics kits and fabricate the required wiring harness based on wiring diagram.

2. Install instrumentation for flight test. Install thermocouples and pressure transducers with their required wiring and integrate with a National Instrument (NI) data acquisition system.

Supporting Responsibilities

1. Interest in assisting with Pratt & Whitney PT6A Series Turboprop Engine Installation(s), STC installations, and general aircraft maintenance.

2. Work with engineer, designers, and draftsman to create schematics, wiring diagrams, and drawings for STC projects.

3. Travel to domestic off-site facilities to support R&D installations on an occasional basis.

Position key attributes

1. Avionics Installation experience, including but not limited to Garmin, Collins, and electronic round dial engine instruments.

2. Strong interest in Hands-on activities. Assist with part or wiring fabrication, and installations to ensure design implementation.

3. Must have at least 3 years of experience in the aircraft industry with detailed understanding of aircraft plumbing, wiring and systems.

4. Will be able to install and configure Instrumentation Installations:

a. Calibrations, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and aircraft engine instruments.

b. Data recording of ARINC, CAN Bus, and aircraft engine instruments.

c. Familiarity with LABVIEW and National Instruments (NI) data acquisition.

5. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is a plus.
