Primary Duties

 

Minimum starting salary: $17.13 hourly

 

Under basic supervision, performs customer service for the Watershed Protection Division of Public Works.

 

Essential Functions

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

• Maintains positive customer relations by providing prompt, courteous and accurate service to the public with questions, complaints and requests for services and information.

• Provides customer services for service charges and adjustments according to City policies and procedures.

• Purchasing and P-card transactions.

• Processes a variety of public records requests.

• Assisting with coordination of training events

• Maintain inventory of supplies.

• Assisting with budget preparations.

• Manages billing, reviews and verifies data and maintains record systems; maintains administrative records, department correspondence and reporting systems.

• Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information.

• Performs other related and assigned duties as required.

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

 

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Two years’ of clerical and customer service experience.

 

Preferred:

 

• Bilingual in Spanish.

• Valid Texas Driver’s License.

 

Physical Demands

 

Sedentary Work:

 

• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
