Director of Marketing and Operations
Greater Waco Legal Services is seeking applicants for the position of a full-time Director of Marketing and Operations. Candidates should have a strong background in management and operations, communications and marketing, and grants and fundraising, with a strong preference for this experience being in nonprofit administration. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Marketing and Operations is responsible for implementing and overseeing brand development; advancement strategies; digital media storytelling (website, social media, videos, etc.), and GWLS daily operations, including: staff and volunteer management; systems-building and quality control; financial stewardship; and general office administration. GWLS provides affordable legal services, holistic advocacy, and community-driven problem-solving so that all members of our community have equal access to justice. We envision our legal services helping our community grow healthier, more educated, and more financially secure.
Required Education and Experience:
JD or Master’s degree in business, communications, marketing, social work, public health or administration, or any related field (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, social work, public health or administration, or any related field
Prior legal services, public interest, or other community-based experience in serving persons with low-income and/or oppressed communities (preferred)
Valid Texas Drivers’ License and Personal Auto Insurance Policy
Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability is preferred

Excellent written & verbal communication skills, bilingual (English/Spanish) ability is preferred
Demonstrated ability to use media channels effectively to deliver marketing content
Curiosity and a desire to constantly evaluate, learn, and optimize
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive fund development and marketing plans with targeted, timely, and quantifiable goals and objectives, in partnership with the Executive Director and GWLS Board and volunteers
Safeguard effective donor management systems
Direct the creation, production, and distribution of marketing materials such as press releases, newsletters, and publications (print and digital) and ensure the consistent use of all print and electronic branding assets such as letterhead and logos. Update style guide as needed.
Strategically assess all externally facing marketing (website, email, social media, etc.) and update them regularly to ensure strategic storytelling and advancement of the GWLS mission
Ensure efficient, high quality systems for case management, client services, staff evaluation, and organizational advancement
Assist in the operational management of community partnerships, programs, and outreach events
Produce financial reports regularly and assist with other financial stewardship tasks
Participate in staff recruitment and hiring processes
Act as liaison between staff and outside contractors/services, such as payroll, insurance, etc.
Collaborate as needed with our HR Consultant on Human Resources projects
Directly supervise non-attorney staff partners, interns, and volunteers. Engage with each staff partner on a routine basis to monitor activities, priorities, and outcomes. Resolve issues or escalate to the Executive Director or Board, as appropriate
Support the GWLS staff partners in fostering a workplace environment and culture that is inspiring and supportive of a thriving staff and an advancing mission. Communicate regularly with all staff to ensure consistency in messaging and to nurture a cooperative team dynamic
Fulfill other duties as assigned.
