To provide the full range of duties as assigned to include keyboarding, scheduling appointments, data input, answering phones, organizing Advisory Committee meetings, creating class schedules, and assisting students, professors, and the general public. Receives general supervision from the Program Director of Business Programs and exercises no supervision.

NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.


Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: Some work experience in an office environment.

Knowledge of: 1. WECM and ACGM courses as they pertain to degrees and certificates. 2. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 3. Principles and practices of confidential records management and file maintenance, both physical and electronic. 4. Pertinent Federal, State, and college laws, rules and regulations. 5. Various electronic equipment, such as computers, scanners, copiers, recording devices, etc. 6. Office procedures, methods and practices. Skills in: 7. Microsoft Office and additional applicable software. 8. Proper use of office equipment, such as personal computers, scanners, and copiers. 9. Effective communication, both orally and in writing. 10. Work independently without close supervision using critical thinking. 11. Basic record keeping, correspondence, and proofreading. Ability to: 12. Execute superior customer service when dealing with diverse populations. 13. Perform responsible secretarial work involving use of independent judgment and personal initiatives. 14. Organize and prioritize projects to meet deadlines. 15. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.


Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.


Health Insurance, retirement plan, sick leave, vacation and holidays.  Eligible employees and dependents may take college courses tuition free.  Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
