GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To receive, verify and enter student data into Texas Education Adult Management system (TEAMS).  This includes attendance, testing, post-secondary enrollment and workforce certificates. Making sure the data is entered correctly and on time as required by the grant. This position receives general direction from the Project Director of Adult Education & Literacy and exercised no supervision. NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Some professional work experience in an office environment.

Special Requirements: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be insurable and maintain insurability under the College’s automobile insurance policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are fluent in conversational Spanish, and can also demonstrate multicultural awareness.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

*Attach a brief statement addressing how you acquired each of the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities through your education, personal experience or previous employment.

Knowledge of: 1. Principles and practices of confidential records management and file maintenance, both physical and electronic. 2. Adult Education grant requirements in regards to data collection and retainment. 3. Office procedures and operating various electronic equipment, such as computers, scanners, copiers, recording devices, etc. Skills in: 4. Proper keyboarding technique and advanced speed necessary to complete assigned tasks. 5. Organizing and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines. 6. Attention to detail. Ability to: 6. Read and follow oral and written instruction. 7. Interpret and apply Federal, State, and college laws, rules, regulations, and policies. 8. Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 9. Execute superior customer service when dealing with diverse populations. 10. Learn new software quickly and stay up-to-date on new software applications. 11. Accept and complete tasks on schedule as required by the grant.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
