The purpose of the Coordinator of Corporate Training is to meet all the training needs of the business and industry in the McLennan Community College service area.  Participate in the grant initiatives set forth by the Texas Workforce Commission.  Promote industry recognized certifications and trainings for public/open enrollment. This position receives general direction from the Director of Continuing Education, and exercises no supervision.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: More than three years of professional work experience in business, sales, marketing, or communications. 


Experience: Experience in manufacturing/production and/or logistics.

Knowledge of: 1. Marketing of public and contract training courses to local businesses. 2. Academic and technical teacher/trainer training. 3. Principles, policies, and operational needs of Adult Education and the CE Department. 4. Organization and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of continuing education programs. 5. Principles and practices of organizational, administration, and personnel management. 6. Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration. 7. Principles and practices of supervision, training, and performance evaluations. 8. Pertinent Federal, State and College laws, rules and regulations. 9. Various business industries including manufacturing and logistics. Skills in: 10. Establishing, marketing and promoting training services through various means of networking (i.e. word of mouth). 11. Public speaking, delivering presentations, trainings as needed. 12. Salesmanship to understand pipeline development and customer management. 13. Effective listening and communication, both orally and in writing. 14. Utilizing software programs, such as Microsoft Office and Zoom. Ability to: 15. Plan, direct, coordinate, market, and evaluate a comprehensive program of workforce development public and contract training offerings. 16. Analyze problems, identify solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals. 17. Provide input for budget formulation and administration of budget. 18. Supervise, train, and evaluate CE Instructors. 19. Create, submit, and coordinate Texas Workforce Commission initiatives as well as Contract Training courses. 20. Recruit and hire appropriate Corporate Training CE Instructor to administer the desired learning objectives. 21. Research and develop new course curriculum and modify existing course curriculum to meet client needs. 22. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.


Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
