GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Coordinator has assigned leadership responsibilities in scholarships, such as overseeing the application and awarding process, and business operations for the Foundation. In this capacity, the Coordinator assumes operational leadership with direction and advice from the Executive Director. This position receives general direction from the Executive Director of the MCC Foundation and exercises no supervision. NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: More than one year of professional business experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Professional experience working with nonprofit organizations.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Knowledge of: 1. Principles and practices of financial statements, accounting and the results of transactions on financial statement presentation. 2. Proper English, spelling, and syntax to develop effective and meaningful written communications. 3. General principles and practices in normal business operations with ability to carefully review business transactions. 4. Accounting principles. Skills in: 5. Effective oral and written communication, logic, and interpersonal relationships. 6. Working independently, or as a team player. 7. Organization, with an attention to detail. 8. Multi-tasking. Ability to: 9. Recognize, gather, and analyze data. 10. Determine accounting and scholarship issues and provide solutions. 11. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 12. Read and follow complex oral and written instructions. 13. Plan, prioritize, and coordinate simultaneous project and activities. 14. Negotiate effectively while maintaining cordial relations. 15. Uphold discretion and confidentiality at all times.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
