GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

To coordinate the college’s student recruitment program, including planning, implementation and evaluation of recruitment methods and activities. To operate and maintain the International F-1 program. Coordinate the college’s Student Ambassador Program.  This position receives general direction from the Director of Admissions and Recruitment, and exercises some supervision over professional and support staff.

NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: More than two years of professional work experience in higher education.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: More than two years of professional work experience in student recruitment in higher education, or at least one year of experience in International Admissions.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Knowledge of: 1. College policies and procedures regarding admissions standards and educational program requirements. 2. Principles of effective public relations. 3. Working knowledge of computer software and office equipment, such as Microsoft Office, computers, printers, multi-line phones. 4. Federal and state laws, as well as college policies and procedures. Skills in: 5. Leading, encouraging, and motivating a team of professional, support, and student staff members. 6. Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 7. Analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, and projecting consequences of proposed actions and implementing recommendations in support of goals. 8. Conflict management. 9. Strategic planning and goal setting. 10. Public speaking. Ability to: 11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 12. Prepare and deliver oral presentations. 13. Identify and implement new recruitment and marketing strategies and contacts. 14. Provide academic, career, and financial counseling support to constituents in a variety of situations and environments.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
