GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position will be responsible for daily office operations of the Educational Partnerships office and will serve as technician with first responsibility for the University Center at MCC tasks. Individual will serve as initial contact for students requesting general information and advising appointments. This position will also be the primary individual to answer phone calls from the general public or potential students.  Additional duties will include maintenance of room schedule assignments, building and maintenance of the University Center classroom schedule, assistance with recruitment events, assistance with partner institution two-way interactive/Zoom/Skype classes, appropriate MacCard access for partner faculty and staff, and the University Center web page.  Individual will be cross-trained to provide assistance with similar duties for the High School Pathways program. Receives general supervision from the Associate Director of Educational Partnerships (UC) and exercises no supervision. NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:   Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. (A minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree)

Experience:    More than one year of professional work experience in an office setting or high education.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Knowledge of: 1. University Center policy and procedures. 2. Budget bookkeeping and purchases, phone etiquette, and office-related writing. 3. Website development, maintenance, and use. 4. Basic visual media use, room scheduling processes, and working with varied needs of visiting faculty. 5. Technology applied to 2-way interactive classrooms. 6. Proctoring a classroom environment. 7. Current application of office-related essential technology. Skills in: 8. Team planning, and committing to and honoring flexible time obligations. 9. Proper phone etiquette and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing. 10. The use of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Internet and webpage maintenance, and other job-related applicable software. Ability to: 11. Interpret degree plans, and university application and registration policy and procedure. 12. Interpret and apply college policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. 13. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 14. Create and maintain a database for University Center student contacts. 15. Create and maintain a database for University Center faculty for emergency contacts. 16. Assistant University Center partner students with application and registration information. 17. Assist University Center students with use of applicable software for their courses. 18. Assist with all responsibilities related to the University Center at MCC. 19. Represent the University Center/Educational Partnerships at recruitment events. 20. Work in a fast-paced academic environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting.  At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
