GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provides staff and office support for the dean, to include screening and handling telephone communications, greeting and directing visitors, and assisting with administrative problems and inquiries, as appropriate. Receives immediate supervision from the Dean, Health Professions and exercises no supervision. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. (a minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree)
Experience: More than one year of professional work experience in a clerical environment.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Knowledge of: 1. Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 2. Filing System maintenance, both physical and digital. 3. Proper phone etiquette. 4. Pertinent Federal and state laws, as well as college policies, rules, and regulations. Skills in: 5. The use of office software, such as Microsoft Office, and the Cisco IP phone. 6. Proper keyboarding at a moderately fast speed. 7. UI Web/Colleague navigation. 8. Outlook calendar and schedule management for the purpose of coordinating agendas and meeting deadlines. 9. Professional correspondence writing. Ability to: 10. Learn new software and stay abreast of new software applications. 11. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. 12. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 13. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course work.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activates. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
