GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this position is to oversee the Administrative Systems team for the development, maintenance, and support of campus-wide enterprise software and applications including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application(s), custom portal(s), and integrations. This position establishes close communications and good working relationships with customer representatives, executive leadership, and governance. This position is a part of the Information Systems and Services Leadership team, receives general direction from the Chief Information and Technology Officer, and exercises supervision over professional staff. NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. (A minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree.).  Experience: Three or more years of professional work experience. SELECTION CRITERIA: Knowledge of: 1. Software Development Life Cycle best practices and standards including software design, test procedures, deployment, and documentation. 2. Work delegation, supervision, mentoring and training principles. 3. Database administration. 4. Higher Education, federal, and Texas state reporting requirements. 5. Ellucian Colleague and ancillary applications and integrations. 6. Microsoft Office suite products. 7. Email and telephone etiquette. 8. C#, C++, BASH/KSH, Envision Basic, HTML5, Java, Javascript, .Net, UniQuery, and related programming and scripting languages. 9. Data and software security hardening techniques. 10. Version control, programming logic, and object-oriented programming. Skills in: 11. Interpersonal and customer service. 12. Supervisory and leadership, as well as demonstrated understanding of and adherence to college policies and procedures. 13. Written and verbal communication. 14. Managing multiple projects, people, and resources simultaneously. 15. Conflict resolution and mediation. 16. Deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting complicated multi-faceted applications and software with particular focus on the architecting of an ecosystem of systems. 17. Mathematics. 18. Mentoring and teaching new concepts to others. 19. Creating publications and delivering talks to relevant community members. 20. Applying, developing, and documenting best practices. 21. Supporting and enhancing existing services, deploying new applications, infrastructure, or technologies. Ability to:  22. Interpret, maintain, abide by, and update institutional and department policies and procedures. 23. Provide decisiveness and good judgement. 24. Create, set, and manage project plans from ideation to completion. 25. Provide simple and complex problem descriptions and solutions. 26. Learn and teach new systems and processes. 27. Focus on customer service. 28. Custom code, configure software packages, perform complex system analysis, and build software integrations. 29. Report status, for self, projects, and team, on time and with accuracy. 30. Estimate work timelines and establish milestones, and create work plans and deliver on time. 31. Collaborate with multiple teams and departments. WORKING CONDITIONS: Restricted-Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard-Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors are present.  There is occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency and severity are limited.
