GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to support the internal workings of the Continuing Education department and its students.  The Records Assistant will help Coordinators in course development and provide information about current and ongoing CE courses, as well as assist in registration of CE students, maintaining accurate records, utilize campus computer programs to build and maintain courses, and complete general duties carried out in the CE department. This position serves as a part of the registration team in Continuing Education, reporting to the Coordinators of Continuing Education and exercises no supervision. NOTE:  This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Some work experience.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Knowledge of: 1. Modern office procedures and computer equipment.  2. Proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 3. Basic accounting practices for balancing cash drawer. 4. Applicable federal and state laws, and local college policies regarding rules and regulations of the college and programs. Skills in: 5. Execute superior customer services when dealing with diverse populations. 6.Reporting, recordkeeping, and filing. 7. Proper keyboarding technique. 8. Proficiency with Microsoft applications, internal software, and assistive devices. Ability to: 9. Interpret and apply federal, state, and local college laws regarding rules, regulations, and policies. 10. Maintain accurate and detailed records. 11. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, both virtually and digitally.  12. Learn and utilize interoffice programs, procedures, and computer technologies.  13. Work independently, and collaboratively as part of a team. 14. Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, team members, campus and community partners. 15. Perform all duties with efficiency. 16. Maintain confidentiality at all times. 17. Prioritize tasks and demonstrate good time management.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Restricted-Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard-Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors are present.  There is occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency and severity are limited.
