Processing Specialist (Torch Operator)

Primary Responsibilities:

Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required
Follow and enforce company safety policies as safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others
Establish priorities for efficiently staging, processing, and packaging materials

 – Accepts responsibility for all aspects of the work produced

Inspects and verifies all aspects of the material when receiving, producing, or packaging.

 – Size, Grade, measurement, quantity, etc.

Scrutinizes customer requirements and special instructions to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction

 – Confirms materials and parts are produced to print

Responsible for ensuring inventory is accurate
Responsible for maintaining and cleaning work area daily
Ensure audit and material traceability procedures are being followed throughout the Warehouse

Physical & Work Requirements:

Working in a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; exposed to moving mechanical parts; steel-toed boots required daily.

Facility is a multiple shift operation. Must possess the ability to work overtime and a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays.

Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environment
Job is performed under some temperature extremes
Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift. Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment
Ability to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds
Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy)

Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:

Bring up programs on torch console
Manage and adjust consumables
Make program adjustments on the computer at the torch
Re-nest jobs on the computer when necessary
Understanding of US policies and procedures
Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
Proven ability to read and understand prints, documents, and/or drawings
Proven experience operating material handling equipment
Experience operating fabrication equipment
Safety orientation
Mechanical comprehension
Achievement orientation
Thoroughness / Detail orientation
Strong computer, tablet, or mobile device skills
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Valid driver’s license

Overhead crane – Intermediate 
Micrometers – Some Knowledge 
Computer knowledge – Intermediate 
Tape Measure – Some Knowledge
